The Huawei S5751-L8P2PN2J-RUA is a revolutionary Remote Unit (RU) designed for scenarios where local power sourcing is difficult or impossible. As part of Huawei’s High-Quality Simplified Network Architecture, this unit stands out by supporting PoE-In technology, allowing the switch itself to be powered via its uplink Ethernet cable while simultaneously providing PoE+ power to connected terminals.

Specialized Interface Configuration

  • Downlink Ports: 8 x 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet ports (PoE+ Out supported).

  • Uplink Ports: 2 x GE SFP/RJ45 ports (Supports PoE-In to power the device).

  • Management: Zero-touch deployment via Central Switch.

Q: Can this switch be powered by a standard PoE switch?

A: Yes, the S5751-L8P2PN2J-RUA can be powered by a central switch supporting high-power PoE (such as PoE++ or 60W/90W PoE) to ensure enough remaining budget for the downlink ports.

Q: What happens if the PoE-In power is insufficient?

A: If the incoming power is low, the RU may limit the PoE output to its downlink ports. For maximum PoE output budget, using a high-power injector or local DC power is recommended.

Q: Is this model compatible with non-Huawei central switches?

A: While the PoE-In feature may work for basic connectivity, the management and zero-touch configuration features require a compatible Huawei Central Switch (S5731-H, S6730-H, etc.).
